Trifocal Lenses
Akıllı lens olarak adlandırılan trifokal lensler, uzun süredir katarakt ameliyatları sırasında uzmanlar tarafından kullanulmaktadır. Göz içi lensler monofokal ve multifokal olarak iki gruba ayrılır. Akıllı lens olarak adlandırılan trifokal ise 3 odaklıdır. Bu ameliyat sonrasında hastalar gözlüksüz olarak kitap okuyabilmekte, bilgisayar kullanabilmekte ve televizyon seyredebilmektedir.
3-focus lenses, referred to as smart lenses, have become one of the frequently used methods in our country for approximately 3-4 years. Before trifocal lenses, multifocal lenses were generally used. However, when these lenses had problems with intermediate distance, they were switched to trifocal lenses. The most important advantage of these lenses is that they clearly show the intermediate distance, which is not possible with other lenses. This feature, which was not available in previous lenses, was implemented with trifocal.

Trifocal lenses not only provide good far and near vision, but also provide good vision at medium distance. In order for this lens to be applied, patients must have cataracts. However, the fact that patients are not suitable for laser treatment also makes it possible to use this method. In trifocal lens treatment, the procedure takes a maximum of 10 minutes for each eye. During this process, the patient does not feel any pain or suffering. During the surgery, the cataractous lens is removed and replaced with smart lenses called trifocals. The patient can continue his normal life after this operation. However, it is still necessary to avoid heavy activities for about 20 days. Once trifocal lenses are placed on the eye, they remain in the eye for life. These lenses can be applied successfully to all patients who have near and far vision problems.
